WHY WE LOVE BRADENTON BEACH (ON ANNA MARIA ISLAND)

Anytime is a good time to soak up the beautiful Florida sunshine on Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria Island! Spend your vacation on the beach, jet skiing, kayaking, or shopping, dining and listening to live music on Bridge Street. Bradenton Beach offers plenty of fun things to do for everyone! Enjoy your next vacation with Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals-601 Gulf Dr. N. Anna Maria Island, Florida 34217 as you make memories that will last a lifetime.
 Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals
We are located in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island, Florida, on the Gulf Coast only a short drive from Bradenton and Sarasota. Bradenton Beach is a small city and home of Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals. Well known for its sugar-white sand beaches, turquoise waters, bright blue sky, fishing piers and a quaint strip of shops, family owned restaurants and businesses. Upon your arrival you will notice the slow pace of Anna Maria Island. The speed limit on most of Gulf Drive (the main road on Anna Maria Island) is 25 mph with some small stretches a maximum of 35 mph. You will not find any hi-rise buildings and drive-through restaurants are prohibited here. Shunning the building of hi-rise hotels and condominiums, Bradenton Beach has kept that friendly family-oriented feel. Instead you will find companies offering bicycle, kayak, paddleboard, sailboats, Segways and fishing equipment rentals. You can rent a car, but most everything on Bradenton Beach is walkable. There is a FREE Island Trolley that rides north to the City of Anna Maria and south to Coquina Beach with lots of stops in between. For your convenience there is a trolley stop right out front of our condo. There is a Publix grocery store and Walgreens on the Island, both a quick trolley ride away.

The Beach — With miles of beach right out front of our condo, spend your days basking in beach paradise. Each day you will wake to a different beach.  Always soft white sand scattered with beautiful shells, the waters are generally calm, but the wave height can vary from a foot to barely a ripple. Take walks on the beach, run on the beach, find sea shells and listen to the waves gently lapping against the shore. You can see porpoise swimming by, maybe putting on a little show for you. Expect to see lots of pelicans and other wildlife, fishermen and sometimes manatee. You will find beach chairs provided in your condo, then pick your spot on the beach and relax as you breath in the fresh Island air. Soak in the sunshine and the gorgeous Island atmosphere then cool off off in the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico water. Grab a cooler and enjoy some snacks as you relax in paradise.
 parasailing-anna-maria-island
Lots of Activities — Book a Parasailing tour and get a different view of Bradenton Beach. Floating above the clear, blue water of the Gulf of Mexico, parasailing off the coast of Anna Maria Island is like sailing in paradise. With breathtaking panoramic views of the Gulf and intracoastal waterways, dolphins, turtles or stingray can possibly be seen.
Rent a Jet-Ski, sailboat or kayak and explore the local waters. With several boat and eco-tours—you are sure to find something that will suit everyone in your party!

TripAdvisor Reviews-March/April 2018
  1. My husband and I stayed five days at Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island. Our intention was just to unplug and relax. This beach community is perfect! There are good restaurants and access to public beaches easily within walking distance. A free trolley will take you to other communities on the island which makes shopping convenient as well as just exploring the island. Many tours and activities are available from kayak tours, where you’ll likely see dolphins, sea turtles and manatee, to Segway tours. We visited after spring break and the crowds were light. I can see where this area would become less desirable during heavy tourist times because these are small, quaint fishing villages with limited space. I highly recommend this location to enjoy amazing sunsets, fresh fish and tropical cocktails!
  2. Lots of parking. Beautiful white sandy beaches. Nice walking/running path adjacent to the beach. Fun shops and restaurants on Bridge Street.
  3. It was my kids’ first beach vacation. We went to Lido Beach day one, Bradenton Beach day two, and Siesta Key day three. They enjoyed Bradenton the most. Lido sand was pretty rough, Siesta Key’s sand was too fine and was a good quarter mile to get to the water, but they loved Bradenton the most since they had something to do. It wasn’t as busy and there decent sized small shells to find. It kept them interested for hours. Not to mention that the seagulls at Bradenton weren’t nearly as aggressive as Siesta Key.
  4. The ocean is truly good for the soul. I crave the ocean water and waves. Being from northeast North Dakota, one week of beachtime is a means for revival and survival! It’s beautiful living where I do, but there is something medicinal about the ocean! I love the privacy of Bradenton Beach near the location where we stayed. It was our own oasis! Walking on the beach or swimming in the gulf waters were an asylum for us/me. I look forward to coming back for a few more sunsets and the whispering and sometimes turbulent ocean breezes!!
  5. We spent a long weekend here and had a great time enjoying the beach and the beautiful sunsets!! Loved this place!!

The Bridge Tender Inn and Dockside Bar located on historic Bridge Street overlooking Sarasota Bay in Bradenton Beach is a favorite among locals and visitors from all over the world. Their extensive menu offers plenty of selection, tasty appetizers, fresh seafood, chicken and duck! The Bridge Tender Inn has three full service bars with live daily entertainment. Travelling by water, there are docks available. By land, free parking in front of restaurant is available. Want to experience great views, endless Bradenton Beach character and old Florida charm? Bridge Tender Inn has it all!
bridge Tender Inn is a short five minute walk from Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals601 Gulf Drive North, Bradenton Beach.

I took this YouTube video on one of our recent visits to the Bridge Tender Inn

Brigid’s Cross — since their inception in 1996, Paul and Peggy/Brigid’s Cross play it all…contemporary Irish music, traditional Celtic folk, country, rock, alternatives and their own originals. When they are not traveling, they spend time in their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio playing at some fabulous local venues. In the colder months, They perform right here in Bradenton Beach, which is their Florida base at The Bridge Tender Inn. Paul is a master violinist while Peggy’s main instrument is the keyboard and she is well recognized for her amazing human beer fountain! We have seen them play many times to an always full house at the Bridge Tender Inn. They are so talented, funny and exude high energy as they interact with the crowd. Bridge Tender Inn is top on our list of dining recommendations for our guests of Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals and especially when Brigid’s Cross is on the schedule.
Not only is this an awesome charity event, but great food and great entertainment too!

  1. Rustic restaurant right on the water overlooking inlet with boats, pier, picturesque clock tower. Sit under the trees on wrought iron seats with awesome views, enjoying great tropical drinks, good service and ample servings of delicious food. Also live entertainment, sports on TV and indoor seating.
  2. We ate here multiple times on vacation and will return! Awesome location with live music and water views. the food was great and drinks flowed well.
  3. Being from Ohio we heard this band called Brigid’s Cross was playing. Well since we’re old and normally are in bed by 9 we decided to arrive and hour and a half before show time at 7 and watch a few songs. After a great meal, a few drinks , and meeting lots of new friends ( they made us dance) we had the time of our life. We stayed till the end! The music was unbelievable and wow did this couple put on a show second to none. I have heard they always have great talent playing at Bridge Tender Inn. Oh by the way next day we were a little sore haven’t had that much fun in a long time. Strongly suggest this place for great food and a great time.

REASONS TO VISIT ANNA MARIA ISLAND AND STAY WITH ANNA MARIA ISLAND CONDO RENTALS

When we bought our first condo in 1989 friends would ask, what is it that you love so much about Anna Maria island?  Once they visited it only took them a few minutes to understand.

For those of you that haven’t stayed with Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals – 601 Gulf Dr. N. Anna Maria Island, Florida 34217  before here are just a few of the things we Love about Anna Maria Island …

—As soon as you arrive you will experience first hand the Old Florida atmosphere. No hi-rise buildings, no chain restaurants or chain stores just lots of quaint shops and restaurants. Locals here are friendly, warm and laid back. Here you will see pastel coloured beach houses with locals and tourists riding bicycles. Anna Maria Island has that old Florida feel with the conveniences of modern living. Any amount of time on Anna Maria Island is the perfect amount of time to melt away the stress you brought with you. With its slow-pace and beauty Anna Maria Island is a perfect place to reconnect with both nature and yourself and one of the many reasons people come back time after time.

anna-maria-island-condo-rentals.g

—The beauty of the calm waters and the soft white sand beaches. You can be on your own private beach right out front of the condo from sunrise to sunset. Or, you can choose to go to the popular family-friendly public beach with full facilities like Coquina and Manatee Public Beaches.

—The beautiful weather. With an average of 361 days of sunshine a year making every day a beach day. The average temperature on Anna Maria Island is 74 degrees Fahrenheit or 23 degrees Celsius. When it’s cold or snowing at home you can be walking in your flip flops, wearing shorts, swimming in the pool or lounging at the beach. As I’m writing this the temperature on Bradenton Beach is 84 Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius and Sunny!
anna-maria-island-sunset
—Sunset watchers beware the incredible sunsets on Anna Maria Island. Any month you visit the Island you are able to catch spectacular sunsets. Such an amazing feeling as you watch the sun drop below the horizon gently into the Gulf of Mexico. Many restaurants on the island offer amazing waterfront views for sunset watchers.

—You don’t need a car on Anna Maria Island. Free Trolley service, Island Monkey Bus, Golf Cart or Bicycle Rental makes getting from place to place easy and convenient. Anna Maria Island is also very walkable.

—Anna Maria Island restaurants serve great food and there are many restaurants to choose from. You can walk along the beach to go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some restaurants are right on the beach offering a “toes in the sand” experience. We can give you the names of at least ten restaurants within a five minute walk from our condo and almost all are kid friendly. You won’t find any chain restaurants on the island, rather quaint island restaurants. Please check our other blogs for restaurant suggestions.

anna-maria-island-condo-rentals

—There is so much to see and do on Anna Maria Island. A must see is historic Bridge Street, a short walk from the condo with lots of fun shops and restaurants. On Bridge Street you will find a varied selection of restaurants serving breakfast, lunch or dinner.  At the end of Bridge Street is the Bradenton Beach pier where you can watch the boats go by and enjoy the sensational views of Sarasota Bay.  On your way home stop for some ice cream at Big Olaf’s or Tyler’s ice cream shop. At the North end of the Island on Pine Avenue you will find our family’s favourite donut shop, The Donut Experiment. Pine Street is home to lots of local and sustainable boutique shops. Amazing outdoor adventures on Anna Maria Island are plentiful. You can choose from dolphin boat tours, kayaking, biking, snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding, jet-skiing, hiking, parasailing and so much more.

—Your hosts of Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals will help you find just about anything you need, from things you want to do and things you don’t want to do. While on vacation you might want more time at the beach and don’t want to spend time in the grocery store, we will put you in touch with someone to shop for you. If you need help booking tours or rentals of any kind, just ask us.

—If you’re lucky enough to be on an extended stay there are plenty of fun social events in the winter months to get involved with and a lot of volunteering groups that are constantly looking for help. Ask and we will point you in the right direction.

I think after vacationing with us on Anna Maria Island you will find it is a place you won’t visit only once. Like us, you will find it’s a place you want to return to.

A Huge Thank You To Judy & Jerome For Their Awesome Review!!!!

Don’t come here, I want it all to myself.
Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals – 601 Gulf Dr N, Bradenton Beach, FL, 34217, United States
Well obviously we liked it well enough to rebook after two days at home. We have rented a lot of properties both here and in Europe, and I must say that this was the most well equipped of any we have ever had. The kitchen is beautifully done, with high quality cabinets, new appliances and about all the equipment you would need. I had a chuckle when in the description, Terry said that if there was some special utensil you needed, bring it from home. I don’t think so, though I only cooked two meals while I was there. The condo is very comfortable, the beds are Terrific!! and the sofas in the living room are great to curl up on. And there is more storage space than we have at our own condo! We were there 10 days, and we saw 9 glorious sunsets. Try to beat that! Aside from the great accommodations, the main reason we are re-upping is the location. It truly can’t be beat, especially if you are managing without a car which we were and will be. There are at least 4 don’t miss restaurants (I am a foodie) and several others where you can catch a decent lunch or dinner without breaking the bank. And the AMI trolley stops outside your front door. And Bridge Street is six short blocks away for fun shopping, nothing serious. And Publix, which I found to be quite a good supermarket is but a trolley ride away. If you have too much to carry, call the Beach Monkey..Free, just give them a nice tip. Are you convinced? I hope not because I want to come back and come back!!
My Response:
Hi Judy, Thank you for the awesome review. Our condo is our pride and joy. We continually invest thousands of dollars in upgrades every year and we are thrilled you enjoyed them. We are really looking forward to having you as our guests again next year as well. You are a pleasure to work with. Thank you again for being our guests. Sincerely, Terry, Sandy & Family

A BIG SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO THE REID FAMILY FOR THEIR AWESOME REVIEW

Family Friendly Beach Getaway

Date of Stay

We absolutely loved the location of this condo! We explored all the beaches but found the one directly across the road had the best beach and least amount of people. We walked to a different restaurant every evening. It’s close to the bridge street warf where we rented fishing rods. Lots of shopping handy too. The condo itself was very well equipped with everything we needed to cook and go to the beach. Beds where super comfy. The TV was huge with a ton of channels…not that we had time to watch it much! Our 3 kids slept in the guest bedroom and had lots of room for their things. All the furniture was very modern and new. The view from the deck is stunning but u can also see the ocean from almost every window. On our arrival there was wine and chocolates on the counter waiting for us. Terry was super helpful and gave us lots of advice on where to eat and what to see. He also gave us his cell number if we needed help with anything. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat!

Very Convenient and Clean!!!!!
Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals – 601 Gulf Dr. North, Anna Maria Island, FL, 34217, United States
Have been working with Terry for many years but this is the first time we stayed at this property. It was very well maintained and very clean. It was however a bit further away from the beach than it appears in the pictures. I would recommend his condo but just know it is the third building back from the beach. This condo is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Terry is very efficient and good to work with. We have never had any issues with any of the properties we have rented or with Terry.
My Response
Hi Jan, Thank you for taking the time to leave this nice review. It has been pleasure having you as our guests the last number of years and we look forward to having you as our guests again sometime soon. It is always a pleasure working with you.

Top Things To Do On Anna Maria Island!

Bean Point (Anna Maria) ~ On the quiet end of Anna Maria, a hidden gem. Beautiful sand and calm waters this beach is natural and unspoiled. No rentals, life guards or public facilities, just a great place to watch the stingray, dolphins and manatees swim by. The views of the mainland, Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the cities on the horizon are spectacular!

Bradenton Beach ~ Idyllic, long sandy beach. Clean and safe without the crowds. Lots of shells for the collectors and a number of short piers to fish off of. There are a great many shops and restaurants all within walking distance of the beach. (Walk out from our private beach access at www.annamariaislandcondorentals.com onto Bradenton Beach)

Coquina Beach ~ Excellent Beach for kids and families. The water is clear with powder soft sand. Lots of free parking with change stations, showers and public restrooms. A cafe right on the beach, picnic area, a playground, everything you could want and more.

Manatee Public Beach ~ Also called Holmes Beach, they are one and the same. This beach has perfect sand – miles of shoreline to find your perfect spot. You can stay close to the café or venture further up or down beach for more privacy. The AMI Café is a great place for food and refreshment where you can eat inside in A/C, or outside with your feet in the sand while soaking up the sun. You will find beach chairs and umbrella rentals, picnic tables, grills, showers, change rooms and restrooms, free parking and a stop for the free island trolley service.
They have a large gift store there with all kinds of great souvenirs. Restaurant, bar and excellent nightly entertainment. Wonderful place to enjoy the beach while on AMI.

Anna Maria City Pier ~ Stop here for the views and gorgeous water. An old historical pier a restaurant awaits at the end. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge can be seen from the pier and many surrounding islands. Parking is free to the left of the pier if you eat at the restaurant. There is not a lot of parking, but you can park on one of the streets and easily walk to it. Fun to watch the fishermen on the pier and the many birds. Night fishing is the best with the breezes off the bay and cooler temperatures. And it is free to fish from the Pier!

Bradenton Beach City Pier ~ make a point to visit this pier. Very clean and family friendly. Restaurant on the pier, but also many others along Bridge Street. Take a nice walk down the pier to see the boats, the beautiful views and people fishing. You can rent a pole and fish without a license. It has fish cleaning stations and places to put multiple rods. At the end it has a swing to relax on and many benches to sit. Enjoy watching the people fish and seeing their catches. The sunset is awesome too. A great spot! (just a five minute walk from www.annamariaislandcondorentals.com).

Adventure Away (Bradenton Beach) ~ too many adventures to list, contact them

Boat Tours ~ many tours, see contact info below

Coquina Bay-walk ~ If you want an escape from the beach or shops then this is your perfect diversion: a beautiful boardwalk through a Nature Reserve. This is called Leffis Key and it is on the bay side [LH side] as you drive south towards Longboat Key. Generally this is quiet and you can walk though the mangrove boardwalks and emerge on to viewing platforms over looking the bay and inter coastal water way. You might see the shoals of small fish [shiners] eating the weed in the clear water. You might also see heron, ibis, different types of crab, lizards, woodpeckers and the list goes on. If you are lucky to watch a shoal of large mullet approach you will see how the shiners got there name. Spend an hour, free parking and sights that you will carry with you in years to come.
