EASTER 2018 ANNA MARIA ISLAND

Anna Maria Island is a busy place with spring breakers arriving and spring on the horizon.

Easter arrives early this year and the Island is gearing up with fun activities for the whole family. Anna Maria Island Condo Rentals – 601 Gulf Dr. N. Anna Maria Island, Florida 34217 suggest our guests partake in the following holiday events that are a short drive from the condo or you can take the free Island Trolley.

At the North end of the Island the 32nd Annual Sandbar Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 31st. At the Sandbar restaurant refreshments will be served in the Pavilion starting at 8:30 am with the Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 9:00 am sharp. The Egg Hunt takes place directly on the beach and each child must bring his or her own basket to place their eggs in.

Following the egg hunt the Easter Bunny will lead his Walking Parade down Pine Avenue to the 9th Annual Easter Egg Roll and Easter Bonnet Contest. There will be entertaining activities like face painting, colouring and egg rolling between 9:30 am and 12:00 pm. Have fun with your family and friends and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Compliments of the Sandbar will be Mimosas, sausage biscuits and frittatas. And, don’t miss the yummy cupcakes from Hometown Desserts. There will be prizes for the Egg roll and bonnet contest which are sponsored by The Sandbar Restaurant, Anna Maria Sun Newspaper and PAR.On the South end of the island the Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant in Longboat Key is a offering plenty of fun for everyone. The 30th Annual Mar Vista Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 31st at 10:00 am sharp. Come meet the Easter Bunny and please make sure your children bring their baskets. Light refreshments will be served.

RELIGIOUS CELEBRATION – Kiwanis Sunrise Service

This is a great way to start your Easter Sunday. Watch the sunrise as you join in prayer.


Anna Maria Island churches come together for the Kiwanis Club’s 49th Annual Sunset Service on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 6:30 AM at the Manatee County Public Beach.
All funds collected will be divided equally among the following participating churches: Crosspoint Fellowship, Roser Community Church, Gloria Demi Lutheran, St. Bernard Catholic Church. Organizations benefitting from this event are programs such as Feeding Empty Tummies, The Manatee Outreach Programs, and the Catholic Faith Appeal Outreach program of the Diocese of Venice and others.
Music by Daniel Paul Anzaldo, accompanied by Drew Thomas.
Reverend Dee deMontmollin, of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation will deliver the invocation and Rev. Ed Moss, of Crosspointe Fellowship, will be giving the sermon, “Because of The Resurrection.” Rev. Stephen King, of Harvey Memorial Church, and the Rev. Gary Batey, of Roser Community Church, will share Easter Scripture with the gathering. The offertory prayer will be given by The Reverend Rosemary Backer, of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Father Michael Mullen, of St. Bernard Catholic Church, will give the Blessed Sacrament.
