Our journey begins at the southern tip of the island on the Coquina Beach Bike Path. Stretching 5 miles alongside the beautiful Coquina Beach, this multi-use path provides riders with a scenic
route, travelling the length of the shoreline with stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico, that will
lead you to Bradenton Beach. There is plenty of public parking available at Coquina Beach,
Public Bike Parking Rack, as well as a Trolley stop. The front of the trolley holds two single
seat, two-wheeled bikes 16 inches or higher. It is easy to load your bikes on the rack, enjoy a free
trolley ride to any of the 14 stops on Anna Maria Island, then unload them at any trolley stop and
continue exploring on your own. Coquina Beach also offers concessions, grills, picnic tables, and
restrooms.
Bradenton Beach
Gulf Drive is one of the main thoroughfares for those that want to explore the island on a bike.
As you cycle along Gulf Drive, be sure to make a stop on Historic Bridge Street, where you can
grab a bite to eat or a drink at the many restaurants and coffee shops, browse and shop at the variety of boutiques and gift shops, and the Historic Bridge Street Pier.
Holmes Beach
We head north on Gulf Drive to Holmes Beach, which is located right in the middle of Anna
Maria Island. Holmes Beach unveils a network of bike lanes and side avenues that wind through
residential neighborhoods and waterfront areas. Manatee Public Beach is the most popular
destination on Holmes Beach. Here you can let the kids play on the free playground, use the
grills and picnic tables, or dine at Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe. There is also public parking
and restrooms available for all visitors.
City of Anna Maria
Continuing north, we reach the City of Anna Maria. Visit the beach, 2 piers: Rod and Reel Pier,
as well as the newly redone Anna Maria City Pier, and the Island Historical Museum. Pause to
explore Pine Avenue, lined with shops, restaurants, cafes, ice creameries, bakeries, and much more.
